Practicing Canadian Physiotherapy Professionals Invitation for a professional visit to Hangzhou China
The Chinese healthcare community desires training in modern physiotherapeutic techniques. Recently Chinese healthcare specialists have become acutely aware of the importance of physiotherapy for the maintenance of a healthy, active lifestyle. The Chinese government, who supports most healthcare costs, has prioritized investments in rehabilitation therapies that will keep the rapidly aging Chinese population active and out of healthcare institutions. The concern about the rapidly aging demographic profile has raised awareness of the shortage of rehabilitation services in the Chinese healthcare system.
For these reasons, there is an immense demand to train clinicians in China about physical therapeutic modalities. The Major International Rehabilitation Effort invites you to participate in their training programs in physiotherapy. You are invited to provide a two-day training session in your physiotherapeutic speciality to groups of practicing clinicians in this beautiful garden city.
The inviting institution offers to pay all travel and accommodation expenses as well as a modest honorarium for the two days of training. The invited teacher will have an additional 5 days which they may use as they wish for visiting the city and learning about the region. The opportunity is being coordinated through a collaboration with some members of McGill University’s School of Physical and Occupational Therapy.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please submit a résumé and a proposed theme for your two-day training session to Professor Robert Dykes (Robert.dykes@mcgill.ca) and an indication of the dates when you might be available to travel to Hangzhou China. Teaching sessions will be held throughout the year.
